AzVAN Presents our next in person education event, sponsored by Teleflex Vascular. 

Ultrasound-Guided Peripheral Access Program

This 4 hour workshop will include pre-work and hands-on simulation training. The simulation training will include ultrasound assessment central and peripheral anatomy, needling techniques with use of ultrasound, PICC with navigation, and review of slidding lung. Attendees will rotate through hands-on stations to gain awareness and procedural confidence. 

Learning objectives:

-Perform ultrasound scanning to identify anatomical structures, verify vessel health, and identify appropriate insertion sites. 

-Demonstrate the use of ultrasound for peripheral, venous, and navigation aided catheter insertion. 

-Review and practice aseptic technique including hand hygiene, gowning & gloving, establishing a sterile field, draping, proper dressing and securement of peripheral catheters.

Time- 1pm-5pm

Location- Gateway Community College- Center for Health Careers Education Building.

Attendees will receive 8.0 CE's for this course (pre-work & in person course).
