“Small Drops Big Waves: The Game-Changer for Vascular Access”

1) Review INS guidelines pertaining to stabilization and securement 2) Discuss the latest research and publications using tissue adhesives 3) Discuss the components and characteristics of tissue adhesion.

“The prevention of vascular access device and infusion complications is enhanced through better securement and stabilization of the catheter. This presentation will identify 21 securement and dressing scenarios with measured pull forces to help clinicians understand the different securement modalities.”

“The A.V.G.’s of Dialysis Access”

1) Describe the different types of dialysis modalities. 2) Describe the type of access required for each dialysis modality. 3) Assess for complications of each dialysis access. 4) Discuss maintenance of each dialysis access.

“Diving Deep into Non-Cytotoxic Infusates

1) Consider guidelines from GAVeCeLT DAV Expert, MAGIC, and the WoCoVA (ERPIUP) consensus recommendations. 2) Review complications from common infusates complications from the manufacturer instructions for use, Gahart 2921 Intravenous Medications, and clinical studies. 3) Discuss how irritants, vesicants, and infusion complications can impact device selection.

“A Clinical Practice Review of Catheter Patency Strategies”

1)Provide an overview of current strategies for maintaining catheter patency.  2) Review current evidence regarding catheter patency.  3) Identify clinical practice opportunities for improving catheter patency.


Provider pending approval by the California Board of Registered Nursing     Provider Number CEP12371 for 5.0 contact hours

Cost to attend (must be paid at time of registration online)-

$75 for 2022 AzVAN Members in person
$75 for virtual only
$50 for students- must show current student ID at check-in
